Template {sfhof}

edit

The template {{sfhof}} generates an "External link" to the official blurb for a member of the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, with a display that is appropriate at least in the External links section. For example,

{{sfhof |1483 |name=Roger Zelazny 1937 - 1995}}

displays

"Roger Zelazny 1937 - 1995 biography". Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame.

which includes an external link to Roger Zelazny at the SFHOF and an internal link to our article that best features the institution. (The SFHOF does not have its own Wikipedia entry as I write. If and when there is one, the template can be revised.) Note that I have specified a linkname including concatenating the use name "Roger Zelazny" and the lifespan "1937 - 1995". That seems to be the official title of the blurb but it's entirely optional as a linkname here. --P64 (talk) 17:45, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

The template now targets the old EMP Museum website via the Internet Archive. See the example above.
The new website (from September 2012) provides almost no SFHOF content and its list of members does not include the class of 2012. See Science Fiction Hall of Fame at EMPMuseum.org.

Coverage

edit

Our coverage is now complete in two senses. We have a biography (a page at English Wikipedia) for every Hall of Fame member and every one of those articles is in the category.

Covering 69 people inducted in 17 years, 1996 to 2012. --P64 (talk) 21:28, 21 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

74 people inducted in 18 years to 2013.
All biographies are in the category and almost all cover the SFFHOF at least briefly in prose with at least one official reference. For two exceptions see Talk:Mary Shelley#Science fiction, etc (biography includes official citation as External link; see above) and Talk: J. R. R. Tolkien#SFF Hall of Fame (no coverage but placement in the category).
