There is a discussion of a previous deletion of this category here from 2007. Since then (long ago in Wikipedia time) "Occupations by city" categories have grown, continue to grow, are IMO very useful and help to end confusion in increasingly bulky "People by city" categories. Also there is an already-large "Scientists from Paris" category which logically should have this container. Yes, this category does require population, but I think it should grow well over time.
