Hey Trekkies! I'm embarking on a little bit of a category project. I've started the Science_fiction_technology category, and I'd def. like to add all the articles on this list to it. From there we can move onto Star Wars and other major Science Fiction stories. Any takers? --Oldsoul July 7, 2005 07:33 (UTC)
It makes a lot more sense (and a lot less work!) to just add this category as a subcategory under Category:Science fiction technology, rather than add the new category to every individual article. MakeRocketGoNow July 8, 2005 03:29 (UTC)
Would doing that automatically add the category to all the individual articles?--Oldsoul July 8, 2005 17:29 (UTC)
Well, I just added it, and discovered the answer to my own question. It does not. I think it would be worthwhile to add the new category to all the individual devices, because in many cases the technology behind them is present in some form across many different science fiction stories. It would be useful, I think, to be able to see how the technology and use of a cloaking device differs between Star Wars and another universe. Having Category:Science fiction technology in the article would allow a quick link, not just to other cloaking devices, but in fact all technology from the whole gambit of science fiction stories. Thoughts?--Oldsoul July 8, 2005 18:43 (UTC)
