Naming sub-categories

I have noticed that the names of the sub-categories for the individual tournaments and the main articles of the tournaments for that year are not always consistently named. For the first few editions the category and the main article both have the name of the tournament as it was that year - eg Category:1986 WCT Scottsdale Open and 1986 WCT Scottsdale Open and Category:1988 Eagle Classic and 1988 Eagle Classic. However after 1992 all the categories use the format Category:YEAR Tennis Channel Open, but the articles use the (sponsored) name of the tournament as it was that year. For instance Category:1995 Tennis Channel Open is the category, but the main article is 1995 MassMutual Championships. In fact it was only called the Tennis Channel Open from 2005-2008 so I think naming the individual year categories with this title is misleading. I know this is a problem for other tennis categories, but I thought it worth raising to see if a consensus can be reached on it. As it stands I think there is a real potential for confusion.
