This category, created by Tóraí, needs a definition or description. What articles should be included? I noticed Eire, Names of the Irish state, and Alternative names for Northern Ireland were in the category, as well as Britannia, Caledonia, etc. I added Cambria, Logres, Scotia. When I added the category label to Erin and Hibernia, however, my edits were reversed by Guliolopez. Can someone suggest clear criteria for categorization? Hi Goustien. Can I flip your question? And ask why you felt that those topics should be added to the category? Whether with consideration to the concepts discussed in British Isles naming dispute or not, why do you feel those articles should be included here? How do they relate to the Terminology of the British Isles topic? Guliolopez (talk) 20:06, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Well, from the range of articles included in the category, I thought it referred to any alternative terms for the various islands in the archipelago known as the British Isles (a.k.a. "Atlantic Archipelago"/"Anglo-Celtic Isles"/"British-Irish Isles"). When I saw the category already included Britannia (an ancient name for Great Britain or just Roman Britain; also a female personification of Britain) and Caledonia (an ancient name for, roughly, Scotland; now a poetic name for Scotland), I thought it would be appropriate to add Cambria (a medieval name for Wales) and Hibernia (an ancient name for the island of Ireland). Since the category already included Eire, I thought it would be appropriate to add Erin (a derivative of Eire, used, along with Hibernia, as a female personification of Ireland). Perhaps DirkvdM or TharkunColl could add some clarification? Goustien (talk) 22:06, 3 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
