Depopulate or containerise?

edit

Considering the CfD decision was to containerise, not depopulate, I'd be curious to know where the other 400 or so articles in this category have gone! Deletion by stealth? Sionk (talk) 18:27, 4 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Quite - absolutely no consideration given to the issues. I think I'm correct in saying that all the people who voted to "containerize" are English. Deb (talk) 17:50, 6 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
The same thing is being proposed for Cornish-speaking people. Sionk (talk) 20:36, 6 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

What is a "Welsh-language occupation"? Or, come to that, an "English-language occupation"? Surely "Welsh-speaking people by occupation" would make more sense? Deb (talk) 12:23, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

I agree, but it fits with others in Category:Occupations by language. I would support a bulk rename of all sibling categories using the pattern you suggested, and that parent to "People by language and occupation". – Fayenatic London 13:40, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Then change the others! Agree with Deb re "Welsh-speaking people by occupation". Llywelyn2000 (talk) 13:33, 13 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
I've left a suggestion on Category talk:Occupations by language. Where could this be promoted or dealt with? Llywelyn2000 (talk) 13:43, 13 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
I have started a CfD nomination at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2015_November_13#People_by_language_and_occupation. Please comment there. – Fayenatic London 22:01, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ah good, that was approved. It is now Category:People by language and occupation. – Fayenatic London 17:47, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
