What this category is not
editSorry I haven't been clear enough:
- The difference btween "from" and "in"
- The diff btwn ethnicity and location Xiner (talk, email) 15:37, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- I honestly think that this category should be put under Category:Wikipedians by ethnicity and nationality but not Category:Wikipedians by location.
- The reason is that Category:Wikipedians by ethnicity and nationality is the listing of Wikipedia users by ethnicity, nationality, culture, homeland, lineage, etc. (i.e. the from sense). On the other hand, Category:Wikipedians by location is for distinguishing Wikipedia users by their current or usual place of residence. (i.e. the in sense)
- (* Both statements copied from the description of the respective categories.)
- As this category is named Wikipedians from the People's Republic of China, I don't see any reason to put it under Category:Wikipedians by location.
- My bad. You're right. Sorry. Xiner (talk, email) 15:53, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- That's ok. In fact, the categorization of the following 3 categories, namely Category:Wikipedians from the People's Republic of China, Category:Wikipedians in the People's Republic of China and Category:Chinese Wikipedians, is quite tricky. INTELer 16:03, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- Isn't it? In fact I nominated some of the China-related cats for discussion on UCfD just recently, but most people couldn't figure them out. Xiner (talk, email) 16:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
