Cummings is an unincorporated community in Mendocino County, California.[1] It is located near U.S. Route 101[2] on Rattlesnake Creek 5 miles (8 km) east-southeast of Leggett,[3] at an elevation of 1329 feet (405 m).[1]

The Cummings post office opened in 1888, closed in 1899, and re-opened in 1900.[3] The Cummings post office ultimately closed in 1960.[4] The name honors Jonathan Cummings, an early settler.[3]
