Dante Dowdell (born March 7, 2005) is an American football running back for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He previously played for the Oregon Ducks.

Early life and high school
editDowdell grew up in Picayune, Mississippi and attended Picayune Memorial High School.[1] He rushed for 2,555 yards and 28 touchdowns during his junior season.[2] Dowdell was named MHSAA 5A Mr. Football as a senior after rushing for 2,165 yards and 31 touchdowns.[3] After the season he played in the 2023 All-American Bowl.[4] Dowdell was rated a four-star recruit and committed to play college football at Oregon over offers from Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Penn State, and Auburn.[5]
College career
editDowdell began his career at Oregon.[6] As a freshman, he played in six games and rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown.[7] Following the end of the season Dowdell entered the NCAA transfer portal.[8]
