Activities
editInternational relation and intercultural communication
In 2002, with the objective of deepening exchanges between Europe and China, he established the Europe-China Forum. The late French President Jacques Chirac (1932-2019) wrote that the Europe-China Forum established by David Gosset has, since 2002, been “a unique platform for exchanges between European and Chinese civilizations”.
In 2015, he created the New Silk Road Initiative, which aims to study and support the “One Belt, One Road” strategy.
In 2021, he established the China-Europe-America Global Initiative.
Acedemic experience
As a Sinologist, Professor Gosset wrote extensively on China’s transformation and its global impact.[6]
He studies the notion of the "Chinese Renaissance".[7] In his approach of China (中国 - ZHONG GUO) he insists on the importance of the notion of centrality 中-(ZHONG): "Zhong -- 中, or centrality -- is one of the most ancient and common Chinese characters and, in an analogy which sheds a light on China's global modus operandi, its polysemy in the Chinese historical and cultural context mirrors three important measures of centrality in the field of graph theory".[8]
Teaching Experiences
Fluent in French, English, and Chinese, Gosset lectured at Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C., for the French institution Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) and for large multinational corporations at the top of the Fortune 500 list. [9] [10]
