Nathan R. Filson, commonly known as Nate and known online as DrDonut or DrDonutt, is an American YouTuber and livestreamer known for his Minecraft content and as the creator and owner of the Minecraft survival server DonutSMP. He is also known for his involvement in Minecraft Player versus player|PvP, particularly Crystal PvP.
Early life
[edit source]Nathan R. Filson was born on 29 March 2000 in Virginia, United States. Filson attended Douglas Southall Freeman High School in Richmond, where he played varsity volleyball until his graduation in 2022. His younger brother, Hudson, has appeared during some of his livestreams.
Career
[edit source]DrDonut primarily uses the names DrDonut and DrDonutt online. His Minecraft account under the name DrDonutt has a documented username history dating back to 2015.[1]
Early online activity
[edit source]DrDonut began his online career in the 2010s. He created his YouTube channel in 2015 and has used the Minecraft username DrDonutt since at least the same year.[2]
His content primarily focuses on Minecraft, including survival gameplay, player interactions, livestreams and Player versus player|PvP.
YouTube and livestreaming
[edit source]DrDonut publishes Minecraft videos and livestreams under the name DrDonutt. His content is particularly associated with DonutSMP, where he interacts with players and participates in gameplay.[3]

DonutSMP
[edit source]DonutSMP is a Minecraft survival server created and owned by DrDonut. The server supports both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.[4] The server features survival gameplay, player-versus-player combat and an in-game economy. Players can obtain resources, establish bases, trade items and fight other players. Griefing, stealing and killing are permitted.[5]
DonutSMP began as a Minecraft server created by DrDonut before expanding into a public multiplayer server.
In 2022, DonutSMP was included by Gamers Decide in a list of Minecraft servers. The publication described it as a hardcore SMP created by DrDonut and noted its support for both Java and Bedrock Edition.[6]
DonutSMP is also listed on Best-Minecraft-Servers.co as a Hardcore SMP supporting Java and Bedrock Edition.[7]
DonutSMP combines survival gameplay with player-versus-player combat and an in-game economy. Players can create bases, collect resources, trade with other players and participate in PvP. DrDonut frequently interacts with players during his livestreams and visits player bases on the server.
