Ömer Abdülaziz Bey (or Umur Bey or Umar Bey) was Anatolian Turkmen Bey, who existed somewhere at the time of rise of anatolian beylicks after The Battle of Köse Dağ followed by mongol invasion of anatolia until 1350 A.D. thats the maximum time he may have lived upto. Especially he was present alive during the period of osman I (Founder of ottomon Empire). His birth and death date are not very easy to be determined. He was Seljuk Vizier of Anatolia..[1]
BIOGRAPHY
editProbably his tribe fled from central asia with other turkmen tribes due to Mongol Invasion by Genghis Khan. He had a daughter named Malhun Hatun, full name Kameriye Malhun Hatun ("moon" and "wealth"; also called Mal Hatun or Mala Hatun; died after 1326) who he later on married to Osman I, making her the second legal wife of the leader of the Ottoman Turks and the founder of the dynasty that established and ruled the Ottoman Empire.[citation needed] She was the mother of Sultan Orhan.[citation needed]
In the past there have been many speculations that she was the daughter of Sheikh Edebali, as most of the historians during the Ottoman period accept that she was indeed his daughter, although her name has been a subject of conflict to this date, but now it known that Edebali's daughter was Rabia BalaBut According to some historians, she was the daughter of the Anatolian Turkish Bey, Ömer Bey[2]
The title "Bey", used by the princely dynasties of Anatolia, suggests that He was a person of some status and authority. One possibility is that he was the Semi-autonomous ruler of an "Umurogullari" Beylick(Principality) under candar Beylick(Principality), which was located northeast of the emerging Ottoman State in the region of Akyazi and Mudurnu and disappeared in the late 13th or the early 14th century.[citation needed]
The Amouri are described by the 13th century Byzantine historian George Pachymeres, who says that a son of Umar fought with Osman in one of his first raids against local Byzantine lords (the victory of Baphaion). The Ottomans, according to Pachymeres, went on to assume the role played by Amouri until their demise as the principal aggressor against the Byzantines in the northwest Anatolia. If Pachymeres's report is correct, the timing and the political context are appropriate for a marriage between Osman and Umar Bey's daughter.[3]
CAPTURE OF UMUROGULLARI BEYLICK BY OSMAN I
editThis claim that ''UMUROGULLARI BEYLICK ''ever existed and was annexed by ottomon beylick has only few claims but we cannot prove it. According to some claims as by a Channel called Tarih ve Türkler had said in its video with title ''1 - OSMAN GAZİ DÖNEMİ |OSMANLI PADİŞAHLARI|''[4].who has even received appreciation for his channel by esteemed Tekirdağ Governor, Mr. Recep Soytürk.[5] .As per his claim, around 1321 to 1324, Umurogullari Beylick was annexed as result of an expedition by made by ottomon forces and its commanders with osman I's friend Konur Alp who captured Akyazi And Mudurnu Castles bringing an end to Umurogullari Beylick (Principality) during the reign of Osman I.
we don't know if osman gazi allowed to attack a muslim principality as during this time he has caught a disease which progressed further and had to leave the state administration to orhan gazi Although he till continued to mentor and guide as he was a statesman. he had stepped aside and was involved in religious affairs in his last years but othan gazi will not take such a action without his consent as per my own opinion but the history remains as it is, this is question whose answer we don't know as per the historic research I had explored.
In fiction
edit1.Şahin Ergüney appear as Umur Bey in the turkish historical drama series Kuruluş Osman.
The way he is portrayed is very confusing, he was shown in a wrong way by the diractor but at the end they corrected it but he was never shown as an Semi-autonomous ruler of an "Umurogullari" Beylick(Principality) under candar Beylick(Principality) maybe beacuse of no historic significance of this fact or considering the weakness of this claims.
2.Yıldız Çağrı Atiksoy appears as Malhun Hatun in the turkish historical drama series Kuruluş Osman.
