ŽNK Međimurje Čakovec is a Croatian professional women's association football club based in Čakovec. The club plays in the Croatian Women's First Football League, the top tier of Croatian Football Federation.
ŽNK Međimurje Čakovec was established in March 2021, following the separation of the women's selections from NŠ Međimurje-Čakovec. The journey began in 2015, when the girls' teams were first formed under the Međimurje Čakovec Elementary School. Initially, the younger age groups represented the ŽNK Katarina Zrinski. In 2018, NŠ Međimurje-Čakovec introduced a women's senior team, which competed in the 2nd HNLŽ North-West division. Notably, the senior team clinched the top spot in the 2nd HNLŽ group B during the 2020-21 season, earning a promotion to the Prva HNLŽ through qualifications. However, in the subsequent 2021-22 season, despite securing 6th place under the guidance of coach Gordan Golik, the club lost its right to compete in the top tier due to its separation from NŠ Međimurje-Čakovec. Consequently, it commenced its journey anew, starting from the lowest rank in the competition. In its inaugural year, ŽNK Međimurje Čakovec swiftly clinched the championship title in the 2nd HNLŽ group B. Subsequently, the team once more navigated through the qualifications, successfully ascending to the pinnacle of the competition.
At present, the club boasts a roster of over 80 girls, encompassing not only the senior team but also four additional selections. These include the WU-17 (cadets), WU-15 (pioneers), WU-13 (junior pioneers), and WU-11 (beginners) teams. Notably, the WU-17 and WU-15 teams actively participate in the 1st Croatian Youth Football League, whereas the WU-13 and WU-11 teams engage in competitions within the boys' regional league.
