2024 Amsterdam Anti-Israeli Attack
editOn November 7, 2024, following a soccer match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax in Amsterdam, reports indicated that Israeli fans were targeted in various attacks across the city. Witnesses described incidents involving stabbings, car rammings, and attempted break-ins at hotels where Israelis were staying. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arranged emergency evacuation flights for Israeli citizens.[1]
The incident is part of a broader increase in antisemitic incidents in Europe, attributed to heightened tensions related to the Israel-Hamas conflict that began in October 2023. Reports suggest that the Netherlands has seen a significant rise in antisemitic incidents since the conflict began.[2][3]
