Early Life and Education
editAKA Thesaur was born on March 28, 1996, in Skopje, into a modest middle-class family. Despite a passion for music from an early age, they were restricted from learning music formally. However, this did not stop Thesaur from pursuing their passion; they taught themselves how to play the piano.
Career
editAKA Thesaur began experimenting with musical styles when they discovered digital music creation programs. Their art later took shape from dealing with unsuccessful romances through creation and was significantly influenced by alternative electronic/trip-hop artists such as Radiohead, Sevdaliza, James Blake, and Portishead. Queer culture had a significant impact on their courage and stage presence, which is how they started their journey as a DJ.
They began DJing out of curiosity while working at Shortbus, where they eventually became a resident DJ. Their musical style varies between house and techno, electronic and ambient music, and is quite experimental. However, they have always had a soft spot for "rave" music.
