A Conversation with Minister (Chinese: 空中访民情) is a current affairs television series co-produced by Channel 8, Capital 95.8FM and 8world.[1] The show features in-house current affair hosts engaging conversations with office holders of the Parliament of Singapore. The first season of the series premiered on 1 October 2018. To date, six seasons has since aired.[2][3] A sixth season of the show premiered on 26 September 2023.[4]
Development
editThe series brings together with certain ministers and guests of different backgrounds to discuss current issues, along with discussions of topics and news to go along with.
Each season comprises a set number of episodes between 3 and 8. The first season were co-hosted by Lim Leng Kee and Soh Bee Lan; Soh left the series after the second season and 8World presenter Kristine Lim took the hosting role on season five. Season six changed the format whereas the show was reduced to a half-hour format while hosts are rotated on a weekly basis.
The episodes are also available on the Capital 95.8FM's podcast and since season two, the episodes are also uploaded on the 8world's YouTube channel.[5]

editThe 2020 season has been split into two parts as a result of both the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore and its upcoming general election. The first part of three episodes aired consecutively and the second part aired on a traditional weekly format. Ongoing with the restrictions implied, video teleconferencing were used for discussions.
