editHe learned tamil literatures from Poet Gulam Kadir Navalar.[4] he is the English knowing Muslim gentleman who has cultivated Tamil to an eminent degree. His deep devotion to tamil, his unbounded sympathy for everything tamil and above all, his highly polished manners and his sweet and amiable temper have endeared.[5][6][7][8]
