AeroItalia Regional (IATA: KS, ICAO: KON) (previously AirConnect) is a Romanian airline headquartered in Bucharest Otopeni. It operates a fleet of two ATR 72s.
History
editAirConnect period
editAirConnect was founded in 2021 and commenced operations in August 2022 with an initial fleet of one ATR 72-600, later increased to two of the model. In their early days of operation, the airline announced a codeshare partnership with the low-cost carrier Blue Air. Less then a week after this announcement Blue Air was forced to suspend operations[1] for at least the next 6 days after legal actions by the romanian authorities, later resulting in the company's banckrupcy. AeroItalia aquired 93.86% of AirConnect in November 2023 after the company reported a net loss of 4.2 million euro in 2022[2]

editIn april 2024 AirConnect changed its name to Aeroitalia Regional[3]. Aeroitalia
Fleet
editAeroitalia Regional operates a fleet of two ATR 72-600 in a 68 seats all economy configuration[4]. Since May 2024 the airline employed the services of Air Lease copmpany 4 Airways for their two Boeing 737-400.
Future
editAeroitalia announced in the last days of september 2024 that it will introduce a third aircraft in Aeroitalia Regional's fleet. This third aircraft will be an Embraer 175 leased from ALC[5] and it will replace the planned third ATR.
