Agustín Pereyra Lucena (1948–2019) was an Argentine guitarist and composer renowned for his profound connection to Brazilian music, particularly bossa nova. Born in Buenos Aires, he began studying guitar at the age of twelve. His musical journey was profoundly influenced by Brazilian artists such as João Gilberto, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and Baden Powell.
In 1970, at 22, Pereyra Lucena released his self-titled debut album, which featured interpretations of Brazilian classics and original compositions. The album garnered praise from notable figures, including Vinicius de Moraes, who remarked, "I think I never saw, with the exception of Baden Powell and Toquinho, anyone more linked to his instrument than Agustín Pereyra Lucena." Throughout his career, Pereyra Lucena collaborated with esteemed artists such as Naná Vasconcelos, with whom he recorded "El Increíble Naná" in 1971.
