Alessandra Monteiro de Oliveira Santos (born 1973 ) is a Brazilian biologist , taxonomer , botanist , ecologist , curator and professor.
She graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais,[1] and from the State University of Campinas, supervised by Dr. Fernando Augusto de Oliveira e Silveira (1978), defending the thesis "Taxonomic studies of the species of Lobelia L. ( 1988 ) ..[2]
She has experience in botany and ecology, in the field of intersection between animals and plants and seed dispersal. Since 2010, she has been a researcher and professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais , with professional experience in research and teaching in the areas of botany: morphology and systematics of dicotyledons .[3]
She has been working on the identification and naming of new species for science since April 2015 , especially from the Moraceae family , and in particular from the Dorstenia genus.
