Alexander Darwin is an American author of science fiction & fantasy. His first novel, the Combat Codes, is about a world organized around the principles of hand-to-hand combat.[1] In the book Darwin uses specific mixed martial arts terms to give those familiar with the sport a front row seat to the action. [2] Darwin also makes use of the Lone Wolf and Cub trope with his two primary characters, Murray and Cego[3]

In 2021, Darwin wrote a piece for Rolling Stone Magazine called the Lost Diary of Anthony Bourdain[4], which followed famed chef and TV personality Bourdain's anonymous writing on Reddit.com about his passion for Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
