Alexandros Dolgov (Russian: Александрос Долгов, Greek: Αλέξανδρος Ντολγκόβ; born 27 October 1993) Is a Greek-Belgian author and blockchain expert. Alexandros has written for a number of publications such as CoinTelegraph[1], CCN[2] and other[3] publications[4]. He speaks[5] and talks about topics such as Tech Censorship, Bitcoin, Decentralisation, Web3, Non-fungible tokens, Decentralized autonomous organizations and how these technologies will impact societies and people. In 2024, Dolgov changed his surname from Ntolgkov to Dolgov as it is how it should be written in a grammatically correct way.

Early Life and Education

Dolgov grew up in Greece where he went to the Second Professional Lyceum of Lamia and got a specialisation in IT management. After the 2008 economic crisis during which Greece was impacted severely, he immigrated to Antwerp Belgium where he attended Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts earning his Bachelor's degree in International Business Management - to which he returned to as a lecturer on DAOs afterwards - and earned a Master's degree from the University of Nicosia in Blockchain and Digital Currency.

Career

Dolgov's career span different sectors such as event organisation for Antwerp Business Community, working for Solvay S.A. and a software start-up situated in Antwerp, Belgium. During that time, Dolgov through his experience of the financial crisis of Greece and the stories told to him from his father about the Soviet Union's financial collapse and how it led to people falling into poverty from one day to the next, became enamoured with Blockchain and Digital Currencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and public blockchains as he saw in them tremendous potential in transforming the world of Economics, Finance and Governance among others. Since then, he has been extremely involved in the space of Blockchain, Web3 and Digital Currencies speaking[6], working[3], and educating[7] about the problems this technology can solve as well as how it will likely impact the future.

Podcasting

During his studies Dolgov was the co-host of the Blockchain Practitioners Podcast[8] where he invited blockchain experts to talk about the projects they are working on and to educate other people about the technology. Besides podcasting, Dolgov has been giving lectures at universities on web3, blockchain and how these technologies can be used for the betterment of society as well as a speaker in various events such as The Web Summit[5] among others.

Substack

In 2024, Dolgov established his Substack publication The Unchained Web where he writes and creates content on how privacy, censorship, surveillance, web3, blockchain and decentralisation can impact the world. Dolgov is also a member of different organisation such as the Crypto Valley Association and Government Blockchain Association[9] among others.

As of 2024, Dolgov was busy writing his first book on the topic of developing smart contracts with Solidity.
