- Comment: Sources are not reliable and don’t establish notablity. It needs in-depth covarage from multiple independent reliable sources to establish notablity. Grabup (talk) 14:44, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Can Halvari instead be mentioned in the article Båtsfjord, where the politics of that municipality is outlined? Geschichte (talk) 06:47, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Alfred Johan Olufsen Halvari (30 July 1890 – 6 September 1966)[1] was a Norwegian fisherman and communist politician who was mayor of Båtsfjord from 1935 to 1945.
Biography
editAlfred Halvari was born in Sør-Varanger to the fisherman Olof Halvari and Grethe Halvari (née Luusua), who had emigrated from Finnish Lapland to Norway.[2]
During the 1930s, Halvari was a leading figure[clarification needed] in Communist Party of Norway and served as chairman in Båtsfjord from 1935 to 1945.
Early in the fall of 1940, Halvari made the decision to escape from the German occupiers and took his family with him and went over to the Rybachy Peninsula and the Soviet Union.
In January 1961, when two police officers arrived at his home with an order to accompany him to the police chamber[clarification needed]. Halvari, then aged 71, faced accusations of being a Soviet spy and leader of an agent network in Eastern Finnmark. After being confronted with the serious allegations, Halvari expressed his willingness to cooperate with the authorities. This event marked the beginning of an investigation that would shed light[how?] on Halvari's past activities[which?] and his alleged connections to the Soviet Union.
