Submission declined on 15 May 2024 by Qcne (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

Alfredas Martynas Sviklas (1942 – 2022) was a distinguished Lithuanian chemical engineer known for his pioneering work in fertilizer technology.
Education and Career
editSviklas graduated from Kaunas Polytechnic Institute in 1965. He began his career at Achema (formerly Azotas), where he held various roles including head of the Methanol Production Conversion Department and the Technology Laboratory. Later, he joined Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) as a professor and served as vice-dean.
Research and Contributions
editSviklas has published over 150 scientific articles and holds 31 patents. His research focuses on the physical chemistry and technology of fertilizers, aiming to enhance their efficiency and sustainability. Notably, he developed a cost-effective method for producing potassium dihydrogen phosphate using more affordable raw materials and simpler production processes.
Publications
editSviklas has authored several influential textbooks and monographs, including:
- "The Theory, Technology, and Efficiency of Liquid Special Fertilizers" (1993)
- "Phosphorus Fertilizers" (2006, co-authored with Rasa Paleckiene and Rasa Šlinkšiene)
- "Complex Fertilizers" (2008, co-authored with Rasa Paleckiene and Rasa Šlinkšiene)
- Various laboratory manuals on inorganic material technologies and mineral fertilizers.
Selected Research Papers
edit- "Influence of Technological Parameters on the Properties of Granulated Dolomite" - This paper explores the main parameters of dolomite phosphorization and the successive granulation processes, providing insights into the optimization of agricultural products.
Legacy
editSviklas has played a crucial role in advancing chemical engineering education and research at Kaunas University of Technology, mentoring numerous students and young researchers. His contributions have enhanced academic knowledge and provided practical solutions for the agricultural industry.
