Alyssa D. Grenfell (Born 1992–1993)[1] is an Ex-Mormon content creator and author. Grenfell is best known for her anti-Mormon content and her book called How to Leave the Mormon Church: An Exmormon's Guide to Rebuilding After Religion.
Grenfell has over 600,000+ followers on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok combined.[2] Her content consists of critiquing aspects of the Mormon Church which has gained popularity from several news outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Post, and Daily Mail.[3][1][4]
Early life and education
editGrenfell is from a devout Mormon family; she was baptized at eight. Grenfell was a Mormon missionary, she detailed her experiences in a YouTube video on why she regrets it. She graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah and was married in a Mormon temple in her twenties.[5][6]

editGrenfell was a ninth-grade teacher at American Fork Junior High School in Utah for one-year prior to becoming a content creator.
Grenfell left the Mormon Church after she and her husband started studying the history of the church;[5] as she described on her blog mormontruths.com,[7] "My husband and I began to study church history and learned how much had been hidden from us. Discovering that Joseph Smith married other men's wives and multiple teenagers felt like a betrayal. My husband and I both left the church the same year."
Grenfell moved to Brooklyn initially before moving to Austin, Texas. After the birth of her second son, she stopped working and became an online content creator.[5]
Content creation
editGrenfell creates content criticizing the Mormon Church on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram (her handle on all platforms is @alyssadgrenfell). Some of her most popular videos have gotten millions of views.
