Draft:Amy Moglia Heuerman

Amy Moglia Heuerman is a fine artist painter and the owner of two art galleries that showcase her work, one in Naples, Florida, and the other in Bay Harbor, Michigan. Both galleries include studio spaces where Amy creates canvases in versatile styles including both abstract and figurative.

Her journey as an artist started early in life. As a young student in Rumson, New Jersey, she entertained teachers and classmates with imaginative drawings. As she matured, she honed her drawing skills while pursuing a degree in early childhood education. After several years in the business world in New York City, she launched "Scribbles," producing calling cards, baby announcements and invitations. The business grew into Bear Hug Designs, producing children's illustrations for books, games, puzzles, and gift products. The business ultimately transitioned into a licensing enterprise that allowed her to create while others handled production.

After retiring Bear Hug Designs, Amy's creative urge found an outlet in painting large canvases with bold, broad and color strokes. She first painted coastals and abstract florals. The COVID pandemic and resulting feelings of aloneness inspired "the girls," a series of figures of faceless girls tilted on the canvas in mid-motion.

Amy's work has been noted for its abstract expressionist style. With brush work and palette knives, she achieves a textured look. She says that she paints until she reaches a positive moment.
