Life

edit

Bignasca was born in Lugano and grew up bilingual (Italian, German) in Ticino, Switzerland.[8][9] At the age of 7 he started taking drums lessons for 10 years, moving to the guitar and to singing at 17 as an autodidact.[10][11]

His debut studio album, Gone (2015, Radicalis - Sony), featured collaborations with notable figures like drummer Omar Hakim, mixing engineer Phill Brown, and mastering engineer Dave Collins. Following its release, Bignasca performed over 200 concerts across Switzerland, including notable festivals like Montreux Jazz Festival, Gurtenfestival, and Zermatt Unplugged. He also supported acts such as Larry Carlton, Everlast, Morcheeba, Gregory Porter, Phil Campbell, and Welshly Arms. The album "Gone" sold over 5,000 copies in Switzerland, with its three singles receiving significant airplay on major Swiss radio stations, including SSR SRG.[12]

In early 2018, Bignasca expanded his reach internationally, beginning with a solo tour in Germany in January and a subsequent tour supporting Swedish band Black River Delta in April. During this period, he also worked on his second album, Murder, which came out in fall 2018 under Radicalis.[12]

His third album, Keep Me From Drowning, released on March 19, 2021, reached the top 10 in the Swiss charts.[3]

His fourth album, Stranger, is scheduled for release October 11, 2024 by Radicalis.[4]
