Andrew Osei-Karmen is a British actor and producer.[1] He founded the Expert Witness Society, for interaction among medical and legal practitioners, and the UK division of Moda Image Film Productions.[2]

Early life and education

Andrew was born and raised in London, United Kingdom, where he developed an early interest in film and theatre.[3] He studied Business Economics at the University of Reading and Dramatic Arts at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.[4] Prior to this, he completed a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies at High Pavement and studied Performing Arts at Clarendon College.[5] His education also included coursework in MSK Ultrasound, Clinical Negligence Laws, and Global Quality Management Systems.[6]

During his film education, he studied different performance styles, including Method acting, which he adopted as his approach.[7]

Career

Andrew's career spans the entertainment industry, healthcare and medical law, and global certification.[8] His contributions to global certification include roles in government programs, ESG, and sustainability initiatives.

In acting

His acting career begin with a Toyota commercial, which led to roles in other advertising campaigns.[9] Andrew appeared in the London West End production of To Kill a Mockingbird,[10] and his television credits include Casualties of World War 1 for the BBC and Crossroads for ITV in 2005.

In 2019, he founded the UK division of Moda Image Film and Productions,[11] producing Loving Emily[12] and Blood Society.[13]

In healthcare and medical law

Before his acting career, Karmen worked in medical law within the UK’s NHS and founded the Expert Witnesses Society in 2022.[14] His work at NHS involved auditing healthcare services to ensure compliance with standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulatory body for the NHS.
