Andrew Osei-Karmen is a British actor, producer, and entrepreneur with involvement in the fields of entertainment, healthcare, and law. Early life and education

Karmen was born in London, United Kingdom. He grew up primarily in London and developed a passion for film and theatre as a child actor. [4] He pursued higher education with studies in Business Economics at the University of Reading and Dramatic Arts at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, following his Higher National Diploma in Business Studies at High Pavement and Performing Arts studies at Clarendon College.[1] His academic journey also included specialized studies in MSK Ultrasound, Clinical Negligence Laws, and Global Quality Management Systems. [5] Throughout his film education, he explored various performance styles, including Method acting, [6] which he adopted as his preferred approach for its ability to deliver authentic performances. Karmen's career encompasses a wide range of roles in the entertainment industry, healthcare, medical law, and global certification. He has been involved in managing over 400 surgeries across the UK, [6] with responsibilities in MSK/Ultrasound Physiotherapy and Audiology. Additionally, his contributions to global certification include involvement in government programs, ESG, and sustainability initiatives. [8][9] Karmen has also worked as a model for Number One Agency, collaborating with brands such as Hugo Boss, Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, and Kenzo. [6]

Acting

Karmen's journey began with a Toyota commercial, leading to roles in advertising campaigns.[10] He starred in the London West End production of To Kill a Mockingbird before venturing into television and film. [11][12] His television credits include Cross roads for ITV and Casualties of World War 1 for BBC in 2005. [10]In 2019, he founded the UK division of Moda Image Film Productions, producing acclaimed works such as Loving Emily [13]and Blood Society. [14]

Healthcare and medical law

Before his acting career, Karmen contributed to medical law within the UK NHS and founded the Expert Witnesses Society in 2022 to support collaboration between medical and legal professionals.[15] His work in the NHS included conducting audits of healthcare services, ensuring compliance with standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the regulatory body overseeing the NHS.
