Reception

edit

Antón Castillo has received generally positive reviews...

At The Game Awards 2021, Giancarlo Esposito was nominated for Best Performance for his portrayal of Castillo.[2] The following year, Esposito was nominated for Best Acting in a Game at the New York Game Awards 2022, for his portrayal of the character.[3]

Mason Teague from Screen Rant described Castillo as a "memorable villain", who, despite only appearing occasionally in-person within the game, "commands the screen every time". Teague also praised Castillo and his son's complex relationship, explaining that it gives the character "another significant layer".[4]
