Ari Spitz (born 2002) is an IDF soldier who was seriously injured during combat in the Gaza Strip in 2024 as part of the ground maneuver in the Gaza Strip during the Iron Swords War. As a result of the injury, he lost both of his legs and his right hand. The story of his injury and his rehabilitation process received extensive media coverage in Israel.

On October 13, 2025, during Trump's speech in the Israeli Knesset, Ari was chosen by Trump as an example of a hero who was injured.^[1]

Ari has been chosen as an example of a hero several times in speeches by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In April 2026, he was chosen to light a torch on the 78th Independence Day of the State of Israel^[2]^[3]
