Arindom Buragohain (born 7 February 1996) is an Indian journalist hailing from Teok, Jorhat district, Assam. He is currently based in Guwahati, the largest city in Assam, where he works as a journalist.
Early Life and Education
editBuragohain completed his lower primary education from Bonai Katarikham LP School, followed by his primary education from Kawoimari Model School. He then went on to complete his high school education from Kawoimari High School, and his HS education from Jhanji Higher Secondary School. He completed his graduation from Kakojan College, and later pursued a Junior Engineering course from Lakhimpur Polytechnic College, Bihpuria.
Social Life
editAfter completing his education, Buragohain became involved in Assam's student politics, first with the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and later with the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP). In 2016, he founded a student organization called Axom Premi Yuva Chatra Samaj, where he served as the first Secretary.[1] During his tenure, he was widely known by the nickname "Arindom Sadiakhuwa". However, in 2020, he resigned from the organization. Arindom Buragohain founded an online magazine called Shrinkhal in 2016, and he served as its founding editor.[2]
Working Life
editAfter resigning from the organization, Buragohain moved to Guwahati and began working as a journalist. He started his career with Ishan News in 2021 before moving on to work with Prag News. Currently, he is working with The Crosscurrent, a well-known news portal based in Assam.
Buragohain's reporting has focused on issues like politics, social justice, and culture in the Northeast region of India. He is known for his incisive reporting.
