Introduction
editDelwin van Jaarsveld's debut studio album, "As I Wrote It", is scheduled for release on December 27, 2024. The album was a passion project for Delwin, who wrote and composed all the songs on the album. On October 13, 2024, Delwin made his first post about the album on his personal Facebook page, explaining why he had finally decided to release his songs. He claimed that although he had always loved music, he lacked the skills and resources necessary to compose and record the songs that came to him. He composed his first song, "Die Buffel se Spoor," as a reunion song for his residence, "Laureus Manskoshuis," after he taught himself to play the piano in 2015. Ultimately, in 2024, he used contemporary technology to record an album in which he used music software to compose entire orchestrations for his songs and reworked his voice to sound more polished. "Maar nou, danksy 'modern technology' kan ek finally my liedjies daar buite sit. Dis dalk nie 100% my stem nie, maar met die hulp van editing software, goeie mense en my ou trusty Garage Band kon ek n versameling van 20 liedjies wat ek oor die afgelope 9 jaar geskryf het create, record, produce en nou release." he wrote on his Facebook.
The first single for the album "Foto's op die Maan" was released on 8 November 2024. The album's remaining tracks will be released on December 27, 2024, with the second single, "Weg(te)Beweeg" scheduled for release on November 22, 2024.
