Ashley Louise Hargrove (born July 31, 1987) is an American TV and film actor, producer, and writer from Huntsville, Alabama. She has acted under the names Ashley Coughlin and Ashley Hargrove.[1][2]
Personal life and family
editAshley Hargrove was born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 31, 1987 to parents Curtis Dale Hargrove and Sandra Hargrove. Her parents divorced in 1999, and her mother is partnered with Robert "Bob" Forsythe. Her father died in 2009.[3] Hargrove's family moved frequently as part of her father's Navy deployments, living in Virginia, Mississippi, New York and Florida. During her time in Florida she became interested in the creative arts.
Hargrove overcame shyness due to a speech impediment, and participated in cheerleading, tennis, student council, track and cross country. She also volunteered tutoring reading, cleaning beaches and parks, in nursing homes, children and animal charities, and book drives for libraries as a teenager.
She attended Ridgewood High School for her 9th grade year, before transferring to Athens High School and graduating in the top 20 of her class in 2005. Soon after graduation she became engaged and married to Jacob Coughlin in 2011 and began attending Calhoun Community College in Alabama, followed by Athens State University where she completed a bachelor's in business management with a minor in marketing.
It was during this time she began taking acting classes, starting in background work and reenactments in Nashville. She also published her first novel, Beneath the Waters Calm under her maiden name. She published her second novel In the Hands of a Vampire and third novel Just a Bit of a Christmas Miracle under her married name, Ashley Coughlin.
Following her divorce in 2015 she took a break from acting after an illness. After she was awarded a master's degree in cybersecurity from University of Alabama in Huntsville and decided to go back into acting.
She married Dr. Glenn Osborne, a chemical physicist, in 2022 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Upcoming Work
editHargrove is currently writing her fourth and fifth novels The Divorcee's Diary and Holiday Chaos (tentatively scheduled for release in 2024), as well as several film scripts. Filming is ongoing for the indie SAG drama Caroline of Mine due to be released in winter 2024. She also hosts a YouTube channel featuring vintage and nostalgic toys from the 1930s to early 2000s, and uploads play footage of indie horror video games.
Trivia
editHargrove's mentor is Harry P. Castros, a fellow actor from her time in Nashville. She said, "I learned a lot about film from him, and about not being afraid to take chances."
Hargrove had a dachshund named Daisy for 16.5 years, and currently has a hedgehog named Lulu.
Hargrove spent 5 years learning kickboxing and plans to learn fencing.
