Ashok Pohekar (born 22 December 1957) was a Labour leader, the Chairman and longterm director of Thane District Co-operative Bank (TDCC). He was also the first Chairman of the Transport Committee of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.[1]
As a political activist and a social worker, he found a mentor in Ganesh Naik.[2] He was the campaign chief for Ganesh Naik and Sanjeev Naik.[2] Ashok Pohekar was a Marathi theatre producer and enthusiast.[3]
He died on 29th December 2015.[4] As a homage to his contribution a road in Thane has been named after Ashok Pohekar.
