Commissioner of the Israel Police

Peled was nominated for the position of Commissioner of Israel Police by controversial Ministry of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir in June 2024,[1] and took office in an acting capacity in July of that year when Kobi Shabtai stepped down. His candidacy has been mired in controversy, as he is seen as an ally of Ben Gvir and has also been investigated for corruption.[2]
