Baker Machado (born September 18, 1984) is an American-born television presenter, commentator, producer and journalist. He has been a reporter at E! News and the anchor of Cheddar (TV channel)'s morning show "Wake Up with Cheddar".[1][2]
Early life and education
editMachado was born in Greeley, Colorado and was raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. Machado attended Colorado State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Speech Communication. He then continued his education at University of Colorado, Boulder attaining a master's degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Career
editIn 2011, Machado moved to Los Angeles, California joining E! News and E! Online as a reporter. His work has also appeared on Live from E![3]
In 2014, Machado hosted his own digital show for World of Wonder (company) called "Hashtag Living."[4] He has also hosted at RuPaul's DragCon LA[5]
In 2016, Machado joined Cheddar (TV channel) as an anchor in New York City[6] A few years later, he became the anchor for the network's morning show "Wake Up with Cheddar." [7][8] He left Cheddar in 2023 after more than six years at the network. [9][10]
Machado appears as a commentator on other U.S. networks. He has been featured on NewsNation,[11] NBC News among many others.
Personal life
editMachado is openly gay and married marketing executive Jared Shulman, in 2019.[12]
