Barbara Hull (born January 14, 1964) is an American trumpeter and music educator. She is currently an assistant professor-in-residence of studio trumpet at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Biography

Born in Potsdam, New York, Hull learned the trumpet from her father, Guy Kinney. At age 22, Hull earned her bachelors in music education at Houghton College (now Houghton University). Hull is a winner of Eastman's Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Concerto Competition, as well as a recipient of the Eastman Performer's Certificate.[1]. She earned her Masters Degree and Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music [1][2]

Hull has performed as principle trumpet with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, and the Eastman Wind Ensemble where she was also a soloist. Hull has also performed with the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Oratorio Society, Kunde Chorale, New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, New Mexico Brass Quintet, New Mexico Symphony Brass Quintet, the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque, Opera Southwest, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra.[2]
