Early life and education
editHofhuis was born in the Netherlands and later moved to South Africa, where he earned a diploma in agriculture from Cedara College of Agriculture in 1975. He also studied at the University of the Witwatersrand, obtaining an advanced certificate in technical road transport, and at the University of Johannesburg, where he earned a diploma in road transport.[2][3] Additionally, he has completed courses in mortgages, real estate development, and UK pensions.[4]
Career
editHofhuis has worked as a strategy consultant for various organizations across the UK, Asia, and Africa, including the European Union, GIZ, Investment Board Nepal, TradeMark Africa, Maersk, and Value Logistics.[5] He established Fleetlink, a transport consultancy in Cape Town, South Africa.[3]
In 2018, Hofhuis founded SovereignBoss, a retirement education hub in London, specializing in equity release, lifetime mortgages, and home reversion, helping people navigate complex financial decisions for later life.[6] That same year, he launched Every Investor, a platform providing insights on wealth management, retirement planning, pensions, and investment products to guide individuals toward financial security.[7]
In addition to his financial ventures, Hofhuis founded FundWeb and BankingTimes to provide accessible resources for retirement planning and financial decision-making.[8]

editHofhuis is a published author, with works focusing on financial literacy and retirement planning. His books include Equity Release and Retirement: Your Guide to Later Life Mortgage Options and SIPPs: Your Guide to Self-Invested Personal Pensions, which aim to help readers make informed financial decisions.[9]
