Bharat Small Reactor (BSR) is an Indian nuclear reactor currently under construction.[1]

Design

BSR is a derivative and miniaturized version of Indian Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor-220, with technical modifications such as a steel liner and new control and instrumentation systems.[2] BSR should not be mistaken for the 220 MW Bharat Small Modular Reactor (BSMR), which is currently in the design phase. The BSMR's design will be based on light water reactors, which is intended to replace current CANDU reactors with a pressure vessel.[3][4]
