Charles "Butch" Hornsby (1961 - August 11, 2004) was an American singer-songwriter and visual artist. His music was influenced by rock, country rock, honky tonk. Butch was born in Baton Rouge, LA.
Butch was an artist on RCS Record and released his first and only LP called "Don't Take it out on the Dog" in 1978. Hornsby had a regional hit with the country inspired ballad, Suddenly Single, which was featured on the LP.
In 2011, Cyril Vetter wrote Dirtdobber Blues, a fictionalized biography of longtime friend Butch Hornsby, which is a multimedia package complete with a 14 song CD collection, sheet music and photographs of his artwork.
After battling alcoholism most of his life, Hornsby passed away in 2004.
