Cătălin Marius Rus ( born March 15 1981 - died July 20 2018 ) was a Romanian IT-ist. He was best known for his algorithm creations and Unity programs around 2010-2015.

EARLY LIFE

edit

Cătălin was born in March 15 1981 in Botoșani, Romania in a family living at the county side of the city. His father was Mircea Rus and his mother Emilia Rus.

In 1999, Cătălin graduated at Universitatea Titu Maiorescu where he studied programming and coding for 4 years.

His mother passed away in 2001, at the time when he was still studying, and his father passed away in 2004, the year when Cătălin finished his studies at University.

CREATIONS AND PERSONAL ACTIVITIES

edit

After Cătălin finished his studies at University, he started exercising arithmetics based on ideologies of his own-made algorithms on computer. At the age of 24, he was the only computer scientist in Romania to compound an algorithm into creating methods of amplification for his own programs.

On January 21 2005, Cătălin was called by an association of IT scientists, where he was asked to represent his arithmetic creation into an algorithm. Cătălin was placed as the best voted invention and won a prize of 3000 RON.

From 2006 to 2007, Cătălin was focused on assembling his own computer pieces and learning the role of every structure defined for every piece in his computer, leading him to create his own component.

Later in 2007, Cătălin created his own brand called Prime Dash where he was CO owner along side the owner Iulian Dimitrescu. The brand was based into selling components for people's own computers.

In 2010, Cătălin and Iulian closed the brand due to very low profit. Cătălin returned into making exercising-based arithmetics and evolving the algorithm that he made in 2004.

In 2013, Cătălin was named by the Federation of IT Programming from Romania, "The Perfect Illusionist" refering to him being perfect into making a very good algorithm with all benefics combined.

In 2016, Cătălin retired from his personal activity of coding after he got arrested because of exploiting false information to the police. Cătălin was released from jail after 1 month of trial.

DEATH AND LEGACY

edit

In February 2018, Cătălin got diagnosticated with Thyroid Cancer type 2. Cătălin immediately got interned in hospital after his diagnostic.

In June 2018, Cătălin told the doctors that he want to go home and not stay in the hospital anymore. Doctors listened to his words and they released him.

Cătălin passed away in his sleep on July 20 2018. The cause of his death was congestive Thyroid Cancer and severe heart problems. He was only 37 years old.

Legacy

edit

After the passing of Cătălin Rus, workers and amateurs of coding and scientific programming inspired from his methods of coding an algorithm.

On December 6 2021, Cătălin was post-humously introduced in the list of "The Factors of Good Coding" being on 24th spot.

PERSONAL LIFE

edit

Cătălin was married to Maria Andreea, having 1 child, Maia Rus.

After Cătălin married to Maria Andreea, they moved to București.

Cătălin was known by his friends as a good person and very sociable.
