Draft:Café Stella and the Reapers' Butterflies

  • Comment: Unfortunately the game doesn't yet appear to be demonstrably notable. Reviews from the kind of sources one may see in WP:VG/S are important to show the game has received significant coverage. A lot of the magazine coverage seems promotional and not tied to evaluating the game itself. I'm not sure if Getchu is a RS although if there is secondary coverage of the awards that may help. Mindful this looks like it enters WP:NONENG and enthusiast/niche territory so may need another look from someone more experienced in the sources available, but looks like it falls short of notability at the moment to me. Café Stella and the Reapers' Butterflies (Café Stella to Shinigami no Chou) is a romance visual novel developed by Yuzusoft. It was initially released in Japanese on Windows in December 2019, then later released on Steam in March 2022 by NekoNyan Ltd and Hikari Field with English and Chinese added..[1]. It can also be played in Japanese through an Internet browser via Fanza Games.[2]

Story

edit

The protagonist, Kousei Takamine, was living an ordinary life as a student until he died in a sudden accident. He then woke up again on the morning of the day he was supposed to have died.

He then meets Kanna, a grim reaper, who tells him that his death hasn't been avoided yet, and ends up helping her with her work. This involves opening a cafe run by Kanna and her partner, who appears to be a talking cat. While helping her, he spends his time interacting with a number of cute girls.[3]

The scenario was written by Amamiya Ritsu.[4] In an interview with BugBug magazine, the director Famishin described it as taking place in an everyday world, where certain characters could see remnants of souls that could not be reborn as butterflies, but that he wanted the image to be of a fantasy, rather than a dark worldview.[5]
