Capcom Cup X was a Street Fighter 6 tournament that was held in February 2024 and the culmination of the 2023 Capcom Pro Tour. 48 players qualified for the tournament by either winning in a Premier tournament or in a World Warrior tournament during the duration of the 2023 Pro Tour.
The tournament ran from February 16 to 25 and took place at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. The finals were won by Wang "UMA" Yuan-hao and earned the grand prize of US$1,000,000, the largest ever for a fighting game tournament.
Capcom Pro Tour
editCapcom Cup X was the final tournament of the 2023 season of professional Street Fighter 6 competitions, the Capcom Pro Tour.
Players could qualify for Capcom Cup X by competing in the twenty-one Premier events, which included eighteen online tournaments and three offline tournaments with the EVO 2023 tournament being one of them. Another option is the World Warrior circuit, a series of online tournaments culminating in a Regional Finals for each of the 26 regions. The winners of Premier tournaments and Regional Finals automatically qualified for the tournament.
The start of Capcom Cup X also featured an open Last Chance Qualifier tournament to determine the 48th and final spot in the tournament proper.
Tournament background
editCapcom Cup X is the first of its kind to be played in Street Fighter 6, which was released on June 2, 2023.
Capcom Cup X was divided into three phases: the Last Chance Qualifier from February 16–18, the Group Stage from February 21–23, and the Final Bracket on February 25.
