Captain N M Gupta Trophy^[1] is a famous football tournament of Assam. It was started in the year 1962. The latest edition of the invitational football tournament was held in 2024.^[2]. Many of the prominent football teams from all over India participated in the tournament in different times. Teams from Bangladesh and Bhutan also participated. In latest edition in 2024, Mohammedan Sporting Club from Kolkata paricipated here along with Aizwal FC and Northeast United FC^[3]
