The capturing of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) was an abduction of Abdullah Öcalan and the rest of the PKK to strain relations with the United States, along with Turkey, and 10 other nations.[1][2] When Öcalan was sent to trial, they deprived his usage of a lawyer, eventually leading to him being found guilty, sending him to prison.[3] Turkey was accused of putting Greece and itself in danger of soon starting a war by the other 10 nations; Which were plotting and facilitating the clandestine entry of Abdullah Öcalan into the country in 1999 were acquitted by an Athens court.[4] Abdullah Öcalan may be accused of treason mostly because of his responsibility for most Turkish terrorism attacks, Hiding Félicien Kabuga, and The Goldenberg and Anglo-Leasing scandal.[5] Turkey’s long-term struggle with the PKK has encouraged both cooperation and contention between The United States and Turkey. since 2015, the US has cooperated with militias, involving PKK-related Syrian Kurdish People Protection Units against Islamic states.[6] Over time, the PKK has gotten more friendlier and has “toned” down its Marxism, and “toning”up its Islam.[7]
