Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity & Empowerment (CAUSE) is an American independent union based in Garner, North Carolina which seeks to unionize Amazon Fulfillment Center RDU1.[1][2][3][4] The union was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic by Amazon workers Mary Hill and Ryan Brown.[5] [6] They form a part of the independent union movement, declining affiliation with established unions, and instead forming partnerships with groups like Black Workers for Justice, United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America, and Oxfam. [7][8][9][10][11] The organization has publicly commented on their use of Salts as an organizing strategy.[12]
