Draft:Central Park Rangers FC

Central Park Rangers FC started as a five-a-side team that played at Chelsea Piers. It was player Paul Clayton who had the idea to create an 11-a-side club whilst at work, sitting across from the Barnstonworth Rovers President. On Wednesday February 17th, 1999, the Chelsea Piers team convened to the midtown Irish bar, Thady Con's, and the seeds of CPR were sown.

Two weeks after that night in Thady Con's the first ever CPR team took to the field on Roosevelt Island in a friendly against Barnstonworth Rovers. The game ended in a 4-1 defeat, with Rich Veysey scoring the very first CPR goal. Soon CPR had a team in the MetroSoccer league and that fall they entered the Cosmopolitan Soccer League, coached by former Malmö and Sweden youth player, Casper Pauckstadt.

Central Park Rangers FC currently consists of ten men's teams and one women's team playing across multiple leagues, including the Eastern Premier Soccer League,[1] the Cosmopolitan Soccer League,[2] the New York Metropolitan Women's Soccer League,[3] and the Long Island Soccer Football League.[4] In August of 2024, Central Park Rangers FC won the USASA National Over-40 Cup.[5] In October of 2024, CPR FC played in the qualifying round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup[6] for the very first time.
