Channel 1 (Arabic: القناة الأولى, romanized: alqanat al'uwlaa) was an Iraqi television channel launched on 2 May 1956.[1] It was owned by Baghdad Television and aired Iraqi entertainment programming including political content during Saddam Hussein's regime. The channel was shut down in 2003.
