Submission declined on 1 November 2024 by HitroMilanese (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Christopher Vaughan Frye, known professionally as Chris Frye, is a Kansas City-based pop artist and art educator with a style deeply rooted in the vibrant imagery of 80s and 90s pop culture. Growing up inspired by skateboarding, comic books, action figures, and Saturday morning cartoons, Frye channels this nostalgia through a mix of pop art and street art techniques. His work often features bold, layered visuals and reimagines everyday items and pop icons through mixed media and graffiti-inspired elements.
Frye completed his BFA in Painting from the University of Kansas in 1998 and later obtained a Master’s in Education from Avila University. This academic path not only sharpened his technical skills but also prepared him for his ongoing role as an art educator. He has been teaching young artists since 1998, sharing his passion for creativity in Kansas City's schools and communities.
Frye’s artwork frequently appears in public installations and art shows, including local exhibitions and collaborations with independent platforms like RAW Artists. He is also known for "slap art" (sticker art), which often appears in urban settings and explores themes of identity and nostalgia with playful, subversive undertones. His dedication to the arts—both in his own creations and through his teaching—has made him a dynamic presence in Kansas City's art scene.
