Chukwuma C. Ogbaga is the Dean, Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences and a Professor of Biology and Biotechnology at Philomath University and Coal City University. He is also the Head of the Departments of Biotechnology, Microbiology, & Biochemistry at Philomath University.[1]
Early life and career
editProf Chukwuma Ogbaga was born in Enugu State, Nigeria where he completed his primary and secondary education. He is originally from Ebonyi State.[2] In 2010, he graduated with an MSc in Biotechnology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. After that, he proceeded to the University of Manchester, England where he studied for his PhD in Plant Sciences (Biotechnology) from 2011-2014[3] He was the Head of, the Biology Department and an Associate Professor of biology and biotechnology at Nile University of Nigeria.[4] He has teaching and research experience at the university level spanning the United Kingdom, the United States and Nigeria.[2] [5][6] Before joining Nile University of Nigeria in 2016, Prof Ogbaga was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Illinois, USA from 2014-2015.[7] He is a biology and biotechnology researcher with several collaborations and publications to his credit[8][9][10]
